702-237 Construction Technology 2A

Up to 6 hours of lectures, tutorials, studio and laboratory work, and site visits per week

Subject Description:

Construction practices, materials, and detailing commonly used for buildings of up to three-storeys in height, including: the application of appropriate building regulations and codes; techniques for researching current construction methods and materials; introduction to site analysis and site works; contract documentation practices, and principles of specification writing.

Assessment:

Assignments (e.g. exercises, essays, class presentations), equivalent to not more than 5000 words, and one examination of up to 2 hours (which could take the form of a class test). Exercises may relate to work being undertaken in other subjects.
