Subject Description: | Broad overview of the Australian Building and Construction industry. The parties involved in the building process including owner, builder, consultant, regulator and site staff. Introduction to project procurement. Mathematical concepts of time management. Manual calculation of small critical path networks. Overview of cost management, cost budgeting and elementary cost planning techniques. Measuring and estimating. The tendering and bidding processes. | |
Assessment: | One 3-hour examination (50%). Assignments totalling not more than 5000 words (50%). | |
