791-200 Industry Experience

Prerequisite/s:

Nil. The student is expected to complete the equivalent of twelve weeks of full-time work experience with an approved organisation, eight weeks of which should be full-time. The work experience may be undertaken any time after the completion of semester 2 of the course.

Objectives:

The objective of this subject is to extend participant's ability to:

  • observe the factors influencing the management enterprises;

  • develop relevant skills;

  • assimilate work practices and the principles learnt in formal study;

Content:

Students will be involved in the routine operation of the organisation, leading to the further development of their agricultural and related skills. Students are responsible for negotiating their own industry placement and must spend a minimum of six working weeks with one organisation. The employer/host will report the range of work practices the student satisfactorily undertakes.

Assessment:

Successful completion of industry placement is subject to the submission of a practical experience report and work evaluation forms.
