Objectives: | On completion of this subject, students should: have a better understanding of the integrated nature of forestry and land management in Australia; be able to contrast and compare issues and practices; have basic skills including first aid care, use and maintenance of hand tools and chain saws, and use of appropriate computer systems and applications for analysis and presentation of information. | |
Content: | 20 field days involving field-based activities, most of which are hands-on. An excursion of up to 10 days duration will involve bush camping | |
Assessment: | Attendance and participation in all field days and excursions. Submission of a workbook detailing the activities and exercises as directed. Assessment of all competencies included in the subject. | |
