512 Psychology

Overview

Psychology is concerned with the study of human behaviour and experience. People trained in psychology work in a wide variety of areas in health, education, industry, commerce, welfare and government. Those wishing to make their career in either academic or professional (applied) psychology are advised that an Honours degree is the usual minimum qualification. Membership of the Australian Psychological Society requires four years of academic training in an accredited psychology course and two years of supervised postgraduate experience. Studies in Psychology have proved to be extremely popular. In order to maintain the quality of the subject and the level of practical involvement within the available resources there is a quota for Psychology 1 and Psychology 2. The School of Behavioural Science can provide information about further study as well as career opportunities.
