The subjects in Geography introduce students to modern concepts and methods in a major area of environmental science. The subjects emphasise the principles of physical geography, provide examples of their operation in Australia and give field experience in the use of those principles in practice. They emphasise human effects on environmental processes.
Students wishing to concentrate their studies in Geography must take 25 points of first year Geography subjects.
Geography 121-303, 121-321, 121-334, 121-342, 121-306 Ecological Biogeography A, 360 Environmental Hydrology A, 339 Ecological Biogeography B, 305 Environmental Hydrology B. One or more of: 300-level subjects in Botany, Zoology.
Earth Sciences 625-307 (Surficial and Quaternary Geology) is strongly recommended.

Note: In addition to the subjects listed here, the Department offers the following subjects which may, under certain conditions, and with the permission of the Faculty of Science, be taken as non-Science subjects within the BSc course:

Note: 121-496 and 121-497 must be taken concurrently. To successfully complete the Honours Program in Geography, students must obtain passes of 65% or better in both 121-496 and 121-497.
