Objectives:
At the completion of this subject, students should have gained experience in:
- applying the tools and techniques covered in the course;
- selecting, planning, executing, managing, reporting on, documenting, and completing a substantial information systems project;
- working alone and using a support group of fellow students and a faculty member.
Content:
Significant efforts will be made to find organisations willing to act as 'clients' for student projects. Students will work in teams, depending on the size of the project. Monthly meetings of the entire group of students in the subject will be the occasion for students to provide progress reports. There will be lectures on project selection, the project process, relevant Australian standards, and information technology architectures. To allow the completion of significant projects, this subject will be taken for an entire year.
Assessment:
End-of-year project report and presentation. Weighting of the assessment components will be announced at the commencement of the subject.
