Prerequisite: 615-245 (Systems Analysis and Design)
Contact: Two one hour lectures and up to ten hours of project work per week.
Timetable: First semester.
Objectives:
At the completion of this subject, students should:
- understand a range of modern software development standards, methods, and tools, and be aware of how these are applied in the production of software;
- have experience in team-oriented approaches to software development;
- have developed a greater understanding of software design and testing.
Content:
Topics may include Australian and international standards for software and documentation quality; joint application design (JAD), rapid application delivery(RAD), and other development methods; CASE and other development tools; management of the software development process.
Assessment:
End of semester written examination of up to three hours; group software project. The weighting of the assessment components will be announced at the commencement of the subject.
