597-496 Medical Biology Research Project (80 Points)

Note: Must be taken concurrently with 597-497 Medical Biology Advanced Coursework (20 points).

Content:

Subject 597-496 comprises:

• an original, supervised research project.

Assessment:

Hurdle Requirements

• Submission of a literature review (of between 2500-4,000 words) on the research project in August.

Assessed Items

• A written report (thesis) at the end of the year, not exceeding 10,000 words, including literature review (50% of total Honours mark)
• Literature review (10% of total Honours mark)
• An oral presentation on the research project to be given at the end of the year (10% of total Honours mark)
• An assessment by supervisor of laboratory skills (10% of total Honours mark)
