Note: Must be taken concurrently with 511-497 Oral Biology Advanced Coursework (20 points).
Content:
Subject 511-496 comprises an original research project supervised by a member of staff in one of the four research units within the School of Dental Science. Current areas of major research activity within the Dental School include the molecular biology of oral diseases and microbial pathogens and the cell biology and development of oral tissues. Details of the individual research projects offered for students will be available to prospective students by October of the year preceding the BSc Honours year. Students will be required to submit a report (thesis) on their research project.
Assessment:
Students who do not meet the hurdle requirements specified in 511-497 may have their candidature terminated.Assessed Items: A written report (thesis) at the end of the year not exceeding 10,000 words (80% of the total mark for Honours as a whole)
