Prerequisite: 740-236 Practical Study 2 in keyboard.
Contact: A 1-hour class per week.
Timetable: Double semester.
Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to realise a continuo part of moderate difficulty and to undertake basic tuning and maintenance of a harpsichord.
Content:
Principles and methods of continuo playing; introduction to harpsichord tuning and maintenance.
Assessment:
Practical examination in continuo realisation (80 per cent); tuning exercises (20 per cent).
