Elective Music subject.
Credit points: 10.0
Prerequisite: Permission of Coordinator.
Contact: 1.5 hours class per week for a double semester; up to four hours per week ensemble rehearsals for one semester.
Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to demonstrate basic playing, maintenance and tuning techniques on at least one instrument from each of the woodwind, brass and string families, and will have increased their ensemble performance experience.
Content:
Half-semester each of basic technique and simple repertoire for woodwind and brass; semester of basic string repertoire and technique.
Assessment:
Mid-year and end-of-year practical tests; satisfactory participation in Ensemble activities.
