Year 2 Music.
Credit points: 10.0
Prerequisite: Permission of Coordinator.
Contact: 1.5 hours class per week for a double semester; up to four hours per week ensemble rehearsals for one semester.
Objectives:
At the end of the subjects students should have developed the musicianship skills pertinent to education and therapy programs, including song repertoire, a knowledge of commonly used chord progressions on piano, guitar or accordion, some acquaintance with percussion techniques, gesture and rehearsal skills associated with conducting of choral programs, and song improvisation using various instruments and the voice.
Content:
Half-semester each of percussion, guitar, voice, improvisation. -The various activities will be conducted in group teaching and workshop situations.
Assessment:
Mid-year and end-of-year practical tests; satisfactory participation in ensemble activities.
