Coordinator: Mr Martin, Ms McSullea
Contact: Up to four hours rehearsal per week.
Timetable: Double semester.
Objectives:
On completion of the subject, students should have developed the ability to perform sympathetically with other members of the group; be aware of the importance of individual preparation; become sensitive to the requirements of working in groups, large and small, particularly with regard to regular and punctual attendance; have an understanding of the range of repertory available for the ensemble group of which the student is a member.
Content:
Participation in staff-supervised Faculty ensembles as directed by the Dean. Ensembles which may be available include Faculty Orchestra, Choir, Symphonic Band, Chamber Choir, Big Band, Contemporary Vocal Ensemble, Jazz Ensemble, New Music Ensemble, Brass Ensemble, Saxophone Ensemble, Flute Ensemble, Percussion Ensemble, Early Music Ensemble, String Ensemble, Wind Ensemble and Gamelan Ensemble.
Assessment:
Students will be awarded a pass or fail grade on the basis of satisfactory participation in practical ensemble performances and rostered rehearsals.
