571-100 Growth, Development and Ageing

Year 1 Physiotherapy.

Coordinator: Professor J McMeeken and Mr G Murray

Contact: One hour lecture and one hour tutorial a week.

Timetable: First semester.

Objectives:

On completion of this subject, students should be able to understand normal growth, development and ageing and its biological, psychological, social and cultural determinants.

Content:

The subject will comprise two equal, integrated streams: physical development and psychological development. Consideration of issues pertaining to the physical and psychological development of the individual within a coherent chronological framework.

Assessment:

A 90 minute written examination (100 per cent).
