Objectives:
At the conclusion of this subject the student should:
- be able to incorporate graphics into technical documents and presentations
- be able to present both orally and graphically such documents in a professional manner
Content:
Communication and display techniques in technical reports. Graphic techniques and the use of photography and video. Preparation of reports for tribunals and Government committees. Meeting and interview skills. Presentation of reports such as contract proposals, environmental impact statements, appeals tribunal submission.
Assessment:
Two essays of not more than 1,000 words or equivalent assignments, 1 seminar (1,000 words) and tutorial work (not more than 20 pages). The relative weighting of the assessment components will be published at the commencement of the subject.
