Objectives:

On successful completion of this subject, students should have an appreciation of some facets of research in computer science, as demonstrated by the teaching staff associated with the subject.

Content:

A series of lectures on varied topics in computer science.

Assessment:

Written work and possibly computer programs, not exceeding 3,000 words in total. A satisfactory performance on each piece of set work is required to pass the subject. Weighting of assessment components will be made known at the commencement of the subject.
