421-460 Civil Engineering Design

Credit points: 23.00

Contact: 48 tutorial/practice classes in the first semester and 69 in the second semester

Timetable: Double semester.

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this series of designs students should have gained experience in dissecting design problems into smaller, analytically tractable components. Students should recognise and become familiar with appropriate Standards governing particular aspects of their designs.

Content:

Major design projects. The designs will include general structures (including earth and rock structures) and systems such as in hydraulics and transportation.

Assessment:

Reports and assignments. Individual prizes for distinction are available in a number of categories.
