421-457 Project Management for Environmental Engineers

Note: This subject may not be taken concurrently with 421-452 Construction Methods and Works Organisation.

Credit points: 6.00

Contact: 20 hours of lectures and 6 hours of tutorials

Timetable: Second semester

Objectives:

On completion of this course students will have acquired an understanding of: the responsibility and functions of a project manager; the tasks required to be carried from inception to completion of a project.

Content:

Project management principles, project selection, decision making processes, risk analysis, contractual relationships, organizational structures, personnel management, quality control.

Assessment:

Three written assignments and a seminar.
