421-419 Civil Engineering Design A

Contact: 89 hours of design classes

Timetable: Double semester.

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this series of designs students should have gained experience in dissecting design problems into smaller, analytically tractable components. Students should recognise and become familiar with appropriate Standards governing particular aspects of their designs.

Content:

Design projects in the areas of concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, water resources and hydraulic engineering and transport engineering.

Assessment:

Reports and assignments. Individual prizes for distinction are available in a number of categories.
