421-360 Engineering Economics

Contact: 15 hours of lectures and three practice classes

Timetable: Second semester

Objectives:

At the conclusion of this course students should have an advanced knowledge of engineering economics and be able to make rational decisions based upon engineering economics.

Content:

Resource allocation in engineering design; estimation of costs; evaluation of projects; choosing among investment alternatives; value of output; public welfare economics. Decision analysis.

Assessment:

A two-hour examination or equivalent. Assignments during the course may be assessed as part of the examination.
