Political Science


Overview

Political Science subjects are offered by the Faculty of Arts. They are available to students in all streams of the BEd (Secondary) course (except Environmental Science) and to students in the BEd (Primary) and BSocSc (InfoMgt) courses. Under certain circumstances Political Science subjects may also be taken by students in the BEd (Visual Arts) course.

Teaching method subjects are offered by the Faculty of Education and are available to students in the BEd (Secondary) course.

The general prerequisite for all second and third-year politics is 25 points of first-year Politics. Some subjects have alternative prerequisites which are acceptable in place of the general prerequisite; refer to the Education Faculty Office for details.

Students completing 58.3 points in Politics or Political Science are eligible to undertake Teaching Method in Social Studies.
