Prerequisite: 920-108 Vietnamese 1A or equivalent.
Contact: Three lectures and two tutorials each week.
Timetable: Second semester.
Objectives:
To further develop students' oral, aural, writing and reading abilities to equip them with a reasonable level of bilingual proficiency and to raise their socio-cultural awareness.
Content:
Students will continue a more advanced study and practice of the oral, aural and written language related to topics of general, social and practical relevance. Methods will be similar to those in the first semester.
Assessment:
Continuous oral, aural and written exercises (40 per cent); one 1,500 word essay in English on cultural aspects (20 per cent); end-of-semester written exam (20 per cent); oral/aural exam (20 per cent).
