Prerequisite: Teaching Method in Computer Studies C and at least 92 points in Computer Studies subjects, including at least 25 points at the Group 3 level.
Pre/Corequisite: (For each Teaching Method D) Satisfactory completion of Education Studies C, School Experience C and a minimum of 250 points credit in the course. Concurrent enrolment in Education Studies D and School Experience D12.
Contact: The equivalent of a 90-minute lecture/discussion/workshop session each week for a total of 20 weeks.
Timetable: Double semester.
Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the VCE Information Technology Study Design;
- demonstrate the ability to plan and resource an implementation of a Unit from the Information Technology Study Design;
- demonstrate a knowledge of strategies for the assessment and reporting of Information Technology subjects; and
- demonstrate an understanding of the role of a computer coordinator in a secondary school.
Content:
A detailed study of the VCE Information Technology Study Design, including aims, structure, resource guidelines, course development, record deeping, verification procedures, work requirements, areas of study, and assessment tasks.
Assessment:
Weekly assignments equivalent to a total of 1,000 words (50 per cent); a 500-word course planning assignment (25 per cent); a 500 word case study (25 per cent). All assignments must be completed.
