Prerequisite: Science Education C4: The Research Basis (485-332)
Contact: Two 2-hour workshops each week for half a semester.
Timetable: Second semester.
Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- understand a range of contemporary environmental problems, international and national strategies for dealing with them, and the place of education in those strategies.
Content:
The Health of Our Planet, including atmospheric changes, population changes, mining, and the chemical pollution. The issues of international agreements; conservation strategies and sustainable development will be considered.
Assessment:
A 2000 word essay.
