485-320 School Studies C29: Physical Education Specialisation

Note:

  1. This subject is designed for all BEd (Primary) students who wish to qualify as 'tagged' specialist teachers of Physical Education, unless exemption is granted.
  2. Special requirements: Students are required to carry out an agreed program in a primary school; arrangements must be approved for the implementation and supervision of the school-based program.

Credit points: 5.0

Coordinator: To be advised.

Pre/Corequisite: A pass or concurrent enrolment in Physical Education C1 or other approved equivalent subject.

Contact: A 2-hour session week for 12 weeks, comprising seminars and the school-based program.

Timetable: Second semester.

On completion of this subject students should be able to:

Content:

Curriculum implementation and issues; in consultation with the Lecturer, the planning, teaching and evaluation of a program of sequential units in physical education in a primary school.

Assessment:

A seminar paper (30 per cent), a report detailing and evaluating the school based-program (70 per cent), totalling up to 1,500 words.
