Contact: A 2-hour lecture each week.

Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- understand and apply basic research methods pertinent to the study of outdoor education;
- identify and frame research questions in the area of outdoor education; and
- conduct and write up a minor research project within the broad scope of outdoor education.
Content:
A study of the basic research techniques in outdoor education and their use in field research.
Assessment:
Class attendance and participation, including preparation of work for submission (30 per cent); written assignment (70 per cent). Total written work up to 2,500 words.
