Year 2 Bach. Teaching.

Prerequisite: Teachers, Inquiry and Learning 2; School Experience and Practice Teaching 2.
Contact: 3 hours of lectures/workshops each week plus 10 hours of fieldwork.
Timetable: First semester.
Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- communicate understandings of major science concepts;
- investigate and identify features of children's understandings of a science concept; and
- identify a range of experiences and resources appropriate to teach a range of science concepts.
Content:
Aspects of natural and physical science and technology, including children's understandings and pertinent learning experiences relevant to teaching in primary school.
Assessment:
A 1500 word written assignment (50 per cent); short written assignments (1,500 words equivalent) (50 per cent).Hurdle Requirement: Satisfactory completion of a set task covering science content of the primary curriculum. Satisfactory completion of weekly tasks.
