Contact: Four-hours of studio/lecture/seminar sessions each week.
Timetable: Double semester.
Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- adopt an informed and articulate position in relation to their practice and art education issues;
- demonstrate a theoretical understanding of contemporary art practice in society;
- demonstrate an understanding of current art education issues; and
- demonstrate skill acquisition, design application and personal expression in their own folio.
Content:
Students will research and further develop one area of their Visual Arts studio practice using advanced techniques to express personal ideas, concepts and issues. Students will extend their knowledge of current art education theories and conduct school based research addressing art curriculum issues.
Assessment:
Three major folio pieces and support material (60 per cent); written essay 1,000 words (15 per cent); evaluation of school based program 2,000 words (25 per cent).
