Contact: One 1-hour lecture and one 1-hour seminar in each of 15 weeks

Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- demonstrate an understanding of the institutional context and processes of curriculum in Middle School Commerce and in one of the five senior secondary subjects in the field of Business Studies; and
- design, teach and evaluate extended and coherent units of work in Middle School Commerce and in one of the five senior secondary subjects in the field of Business Studies.
Content:
Curriculum Frameworks; national curriculum; curriculum handbooks at the school level. VCE; Study Designs; Curriculum Development and Support Materials in specific VCE studies. Models of curriculum and their application in one senior subject in Business Studies; teaching that subject under VCE; strategies, methods and resources for teaching and learning in relation to the prevailing model of curriculum.
Assessment:
Written assignments totalling 2,000 words or equivalent.
