476-343 Teaching Method in Business Studies 1C

Credit points: 5.6 (For each Teaching Method)

Coordinator: Ron Wilkes.

Prerequisite: Education B and a minimum of 150 points in the course (For each Teaching Method).

Successful completion of or concurrent enrolment in subjects in at least one of the following areas:

Accounting - Accounting B11 and B22, or an approved equivalent.

Business Management - Information Management B8 and one of Information Management B6, C1 and C2, or an approved equivalent. (students wishing to teach Business Management will find it helpful to undertake studies, either in third or fourth year, in more than one of Information Management B6, C1 and C2).

Economics - Economics B11 and B22 or an approved equivalent.

Information Management - Information Management B1 and B4 or an approved equivalent.

Legal Studies - Legal Studies B1 and either Legal Studies B2 or B3 or an approved equivalent.

Corequisite: (For each Teaching Method) Education Studies C and School Experience C.

Contact: (For each Teaching Method) 28 hours across the year for each Teaching Method. Staff in each Teaching Method will make appropriate arrangements.

(For each Teaching Method) Teaching Methods in Education C will focus on: understanding how school pupils learn the particular areas of learning involved with a subject discipline; applying learning theories by developing teaching strategies appropriate to the particular subject discipline; and demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the different ways students learn in specific curriculum areas.

Assessment:

(For each Teaching Method) Submissions totalling 2,000 words for each Teaching Method.
