Prerequisite: School Studies A, Foundation Studies in Language and Literacy, Foundation Studies in Mathematics.
Corequisite: School Studies B44, School Studies B55 and School Experience B.
Contact: A 2-hour lecture/seminar each week.
Timetable: Double semester.
Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- develop greater understandings of children - the 'normal' and the 'exceptional';
- relate this understanding to classroom management; and
- develop professional skills in evaluating relevant literature.
Content:
The child's physical, social, intellectual and emotional development.
Assessment:
Assigned exercises and reports totalling not more than 3,000 words.
