Elective Bach. Education subject.

Contact: Twelve 3-hour lecture/seminars.
Timetable: First or second semester.
Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- understand a number of theories of personality, motivation and behaviour, leadership and group process;
- describe their own interpersonal skills and develop new skills where appropriate; and
- relate theories and their own interpersonal skills to roles and relationships in post-primary and TAFE organisations.
Content:
Theories of personality, motivation and behaviour; educational leadership; strategies for effective group leadership; career management and planning; a study of self and others in interpersonal relationships.
Assessment:
A journal of 1,500 words (30 per cent); an assignment of 3,000 words (70 per cent).
