Elective Bach. Education subject.

Contact: Twelve 3-hour lecture/seminars.
Timetable: First semester.
Objectives:
On completion of this subject students should be able to:
- share their knowledge and understanding of curriculum development;
- understand and evaluate curriculum processes in their specialist teaching area; and
- contribute to curriculum development activities.
Content:
Curriculum orientations and models; models of curriculum decision making; the effects of organisational structure on curriculum; curriculum evaluation models.
Assessment:
An assignment of 1,500 words (30 per cent); and a project requiring students to develop an area of curriculum in their specialist area (70 per cent).
