Objectives:
On completion of this subject, students should be able to:
- demonstrate a capacity to analyse and evaluate theoretical discussion on selected topics in employee relations;
- analyse and evaluate research projects from the body of empirical research;
- relate knowledge gained from analysis and evaluation of research to contemporary examples of employee relations issues, and comment critically on the issues involved.
Content:
Special topics will be offered which reflect the research interests and activities of departmental staff and/or visiting scholars. This would allow students to investigate in detail specialised topics which would not usually be offered as part of the Department's programme.
Assessment:
Assignments totalling no more than 2,000 words (20%) and one 3-hour examination (80%).
