327-401 Advanced Organisational Behaviour

Year 4 Mgt. & Industrial Relns.

Prerequisite: 327-201 Organisational Behaviour. (Note: Students who have not completed the pre-requisite are strongly advised to consult with the subject co-ordinator to obtain a preparatory reading list).

This course will expand students' knowledge of major theories in areas of Organisational Behaviour by examining the empirical foundations of these theories, as well as more current research in these areas. Topics covered in the course will include occupational stress, motivation, alternative dispute resolution, organisational communication, change management and leadership. Each topic area will be considered in terms of its relevance to the workplace, particularly how it may be used to deal with organisational behaviour problems.

Assessment:

One 3-hour end-of-semester examination (60%); written assignments and seminar presentations together not exceeding 3,000 words (40%).
