Year 4 Economic History.

Prerequisite: Entry into the honours program in economic history or a combined honours program including economic history, a postgraduate diploma or a masters program in the Faculty.
Contact: Three hours of seminars per week
Timetable: Double semester
Objectives:
To introduce students to issues involved in research strategies involving selection of research topic, literature search and data collection. To develop skills in time management of research and report writing, to achieve a suitable standard of report writing in terms of analysis, structure and style, including bibliographic standards.
Content:
The research essay, which should not exceed 12,000 words, is to be on a topic approved by the Head of the Department of Economic History.
Assessment:
The essay itself is examined.
