Social Research Methods (Interdepartmental Program)


Overview

Convenor: Dr Ray Wyatt (Geography and Environmental Studies).

The Departments of Criminology, Geography, Political Science and Psychology have cooperated to offer a series of linked units that together will provide students with skills in methods that are important in social science research and policy analysis. Some or all of these units, taken as a major, would form a useful complement to sequences of units in any of the four departments.


Requirements of the major

In 1995 a major in Social Research Methods requires the completion of the five subjects at second or third-year level (a total of 83.3 poins) specified below. The prerequisite for entry to the major is 25 points of first-year Social Science subjects.
