The subjects under the Biology umbrella serve to introduce students to modern concepts in biological science, the study of life. In addition to emphasising the principles of the diversity of life, it uses the principles as a framework underlying the unity and diversity of life.
Biology is only offered at first year level for students in the Bachelor of Arts degree.
Students undertaking the Bachelor of Arts are normally permitted to enrol in approved subjects offered by other faculties. However, there is a requirement that students complete a minimum of 50 points at first-year in departments within the Faculty of Arts.
Combined course students (with the exception of those in the BA/BSc) will not normally be eligible to enrol in these subjects: please consult with an Arts Faculty Course Adviser for further information.
