Prerequisite: Hindi 2A/3A or Hindi 2B/3B, students from Hindi 2A & 2B require co-ordinator's permission
Contact: Three hours of lectures per week.

Objectives:
The emphasis is on the study of Hindi prose and poetry.
Content:
Authors from the 15th century to the present are studied. Students read a short novel and excerpts from medieval and modern Hindi poets. Hindi is spoken where possible in class discussions.
Assessment:
Two 1,000-word essays (20%), 25 short weekly essays (minimum of 150 words) (20%), one 2-hour class presentation in Hindi (20%) and one 3-hour examination (40%).
