Objectives:
Students who complete this subject should:
- have an understanding of theories relating to corporate crime;
- have knowledge of the issues in the legal treatment of corporate misconduct;
- be able to comment upon leading cases of corporate crime;
- have an understanding of sentencing issues regarding corporate crime.
Content:
This subject will review the concept of corporate illegality, examine problems in the definition of corporate criminal liability, analyse case studies of corporate crime, and review the question of proper sanctions for such criminality.
Assessment:
Research essay of 6,000 words.
