Credit points: 16.7 3rd and 4th years

Prerequisite: 3rd year: Any two second year-level criminology subjects; 4th year: Admission to Criminology Honours.

Contact: One 1-hour lecture and a 2-hour seminar per week.

Students who complete this subject should be able to:

Content:

An examination of the laws and data of violence in Australia. An examination of such specific forms of violence as homicide, assault, robbery rape and the general topic of domestic violence, including theoretical perspectives.

Assessment:

Up to 5,000 words of written work at 3rd year level and 6,000 words at 4th year level. An examination may be substituted for part of the written work.
