Objectives:
Students who complete this subject should be able to:-
- demonstrate a firm understanding of the major elements of English grammar;
- identify and describe the main morphological and syntactic constructions in English using appropriate terminology and techniques of linguistic analysis.
Content:
A detailed examination of the major elements of English grammar using principles of linguistic analysis.
Assessment:
Three assignment problems, a research assignment, and a two-hour examination together, totalling 5,000 words.
