Objectives:
Students who complete this subject should:
- understand the ways in which culture is represented in language;
- understand the role of the cultural component in language;
- have developed skills in discovering, analysing and describing the cultural component in languages.
Content:
Introduction to the study of the cultural domain in languge in modern and traditional societies.
Assessment:
Three practical assignments and an essay to a total of 5,000 words.
