Prerequisite: Beginners' Russian B, VCE Russian or equivalent.

Timetable: First semester
Objectives:
By the end of the subject, students should:
- be able to demonstrate a firm understnding of the relevant areas of the Russian language;
- be able to describe particular secitons of the system in appropriate linguistic terms;
- be able to relate the Russian system to other languages that they have studied.
Content:
Russian phonology, morphology and morpho-phonology.
Assessment:
Regular assignments and two 1-hour papers, totalling 5,000 words.
