Objectives:
Students who complete this subject should:
- learn about specific problems in Germany, particularly those connected with (temporary and apparent) unification in 1990;
- locate these problems in more general theorising and discourses about advanced industrial European societies;
- analyse the impact of German problems on Germanys neighbours.
Content:
Historical aspects of German politics relevant to todays problems. Contemporary problems theorised; impact of contemporary Germany on neighbours.
Assessment:
Written work totalling 6,000 words.
