Objectives:
By the end of the subject students should
- be able to incorporate into their theses Chinese language materials related to their thesis topic;
- have become familiar with the techniques and standards of literary translation.
Content:
An independent translation of Chinese text equivalent to 5,000 words in English translation.
Assessment:
Written work not exceeding 6,000 words. Students submit an English translation of a Chinese text, chosen by the student and approved by the supervisor, by the end of first semester.
