Objectives:
Students who complete this subject should be able to grasp further basic functions/grammar of the language which were not covered in the previous subjects; acquire confidence in speaking and reading;
Content:
A further study in spoken Japanese; oral/aural work will be incorporated in classroom activities. Students will be expected to learn 100 new characters and will be encouraged to learn them with the assistance of computers.
Assessment:
Regular assignments and quizes totalling not more than 3,500 words (1st year level)/2,500 words (2nd year level) in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes).
