Objectives:
On conclusion of the subject students will have learned 120 Chinese characters and will be able to read materials using these characters and the kana syllabaries. They will be able to communicate in a variety of situations using basic language functions.
Content:
A further study in basic Japanese. Students will be expected to learn 120 Chinese characters, and read materials using these characters and the kana syllabaries.
Assessment:
Assignments and quizzes totalling not more than 2,500 words in written work; one 2-hour written examination; one oral/aural perception test (maximum 30 minutes).
