Prerequisite: Two of Intermediate Hebrew A, B, C, D.

Objectives:

Students on completion of the subject should have acquired a knowledge of advanced literary texts in Hebrew. Reading skills and understanding of advanced scientific and academic articles and essays are further developed to enrich their knowledge of the modern idiom written and spoken in Israel today.

Content:

Modern literary texts in prose and poetry; conversational idiom; current newspaper and academic articles. Assessment -150-350: Regular exercises, essays and class tests (50 per cent) and a 2-hour examination (50 per cent).

Assessment:

150-450:
Written work, tests and examinations totalling no more than 6,000 words.
